disinformation | the first native americans are still here
'Covert War Against the Native Americans' by Ward Churchill, "60 percent of all known US uranium reserves lie under Native American Reservation lands, and another 10 to 15 percent lie under contested treaty areas."
"The attitude of treating Native Americans as sub-human, even having genocide preached and practiced upon them, has been exhibited by the least likely people, including even L. Frank Baum, author of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'. Baum twice demanded the complete extermination of the Sioux Nations in editorials he wrote in his newspaper in Aberdeen, South Dakota, between 1888, and 1891."

"The roots of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal lie not in the criminal inclinations of a few Army reservists but in a decision, approved last year by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, to expand a highly secret operation, which had been focussed on the hunt for Al Qaeda, to the interrogation of prisoners in Iraq. Rumsfeld’s decision embittered the American intelligence community, damaged the effectiveness of élite combat units, and hurt America’s prospects in the war on terror."

Most Serious Warning Ever
A secret Department of Justice (DOJ) report recently leaked to the press gives the government's view on its legal duties in this war. It turns out, unsurprisingly, that the US government is superior to the rest of mankind, it's not required to obey any laws. When officials declare a national security emergency, the DOJ report claims, the US government is no longer bound by the Geneva Conventions, which it agreed to, or the Nuremberg decision, which it led and endorsed.
Further, asserts this report, US troops who do as they are told when directed to commit a war crime are protected by the Nazi defense of "just following orders."

Operation Truth will educate the American public about the truth of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from the perspective of the soldiers who have experienced them first-hand. We will provide returning veterans with national, regional, and local podiums from which they will expose the preventable hardships that they endured as a result of failures at the top levels of leadership. We intend to publicize how poorly-planned policies and approaches have manifested themselves as problems on the front lines and back at home. We will act domestically to protect our troops and to aid them in their fight to protect us.

The group states that when diplomacy has failed, military action is an acceptable and necessary resort. PNAC advocates the installation of permanent military bases around the world for the establishment of a United States Global Constabulary. This global police force would have the power to keep law and order around the world in accordance with rules that the United States would establish as being proper and just. It also advocates the United States government should capitalize on its military and economic superiority to gain unchallengeable superiority through all means necessary, including military force.

Operation Mockingbird --> Cato Instititute with Media Mogul Rupert Murdoch (Fox, NY Post, TV Guide) on the Board with ATT/TCI's Malone [10] . Another big contributor to Cato is Viacom, which recently acquired CBS. Consequently, CBS/Viacom is now headed by Sumner Redstone, who is yet another powerful right wing figure with a WWII intelligence background [11] and apparent ties to OSS/CIA figures [12] . Cato serves the purpose of infusing the Media with Right Wing Propaganda, along with such organizations as Accuracy in Media (AIM), the Independent Women's Forum, the Western Journalism Center and -- of course -- the Heritage Foundation (See Main Page for Details).
"The difference between the days of Operation Mockingbird and the present situation is that, instead of actually placing network executives, publishers, editors, reporters and pundits on the CIA payroll, their contemporary counterparts are now members of the Right Wing Think Tanks*. In addition to Cato's Murdoch, some high profile examples are MSNBC's Laura Ingraham (a notorious 'Scaifette' from the Independent Women's Forum [13] ) and ABC's John Stossel [14] . CNN's Kate O'Beirne is a Heritage fellow (and previous VP) who is a regular columnist for the National Review. Also, old Bonesman/CIA hand William F. Buckley, Jr. is the Editor of the arch-conservative Review. The National Review's President and Chairman is none other than Thomas Rhodes, who was recently a Heritage Board member. Other right wing journals financed by these sugar-daddies (and mommies) include the American Spectator, Human Events and Murdoch's Weekly Standard

CBS News | Poll: Polarization In America | July 6, 200410:31:30
Bush’s evaluation on Iraq turned negative as the situation there worsened, but it may also have declined because most Americans think he has been less than forthright about Iraq; only 18 percent believe he has told the public the entire truth. 59 percent think Bush has been mostly telling the truth but also hiding something, and another one in five thinks he has been mostly lying about it.
ON WAR IN IRAQ, BUSH HAS BEEN:
Telling entire truth: 18%
Hiding something: 59%
Mostly lying: 20%
The Bush Administration receives similar criticism for its handling of the events at Abu Ghraib prison. 52 percent think members of the administration have been hiding information about the treatment of prisoners there, and another 27 percent think they are mostly lying. Only 15 percent think they have told the entire truth about the prison abuse.

Fifty-nine Deceits in Fahrenheit 911, Dave Kopel, Independence Institute
This is the best write-up I've seen to date that attempts to refute F9/11.
It's full of the classic "out of context" complaints and "Whether you agree with the staff report or the critics, there is no dispute that Saddam Hussein had a relationship with al Qaeda" conjecture.
One of the deceits is having the wrong toll-free number listed...
If you read the whole thing, you'll see about 1/3 of the way down that deceits include using images of people reacting to the attacks on the WTC. This is considered deceitful because it "involves the contradiction between Moore's purported feelings about a topic in the movie and what appear to be his actual feelings about that topic."
The very same tactics that Kopel finds deceitful about Moore are found throughout the article.
Since "this is a preliminary version of an article to be published", I'll be curious to read the final, and read the response from Moore's war room. As it stands, I read nothing here that makes me think that the fundamental premise of the movie is off.
The Bush Administration was predetermined to fight a war with Iraq. The justification for this war came from the events of 9/11 combined with a systematic use of fear, uncertainty and doubt to build it's case. And that Osama bin Laden was not then, nor is he now, a priority.
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- George W. Bush, 3/13/02
